Hi Girls! Rose here, with another update on the Obamas! Michelle Obama is using a strategy fairly new for First Ladies when talking with the press about the personal life of her family…she’s being honest. It’s weird that being so honest could be considered to be a potentially bad thing, but that’s what some people seem to think.
Recently, Michelle was asked if she still likes cooking for her family even though there are great chefs in the White House. Her answer? Nope. She replied, “I don’t miss cooking…I’m just fine with other people cooking. Their food is really good.” Although Michelle tries not to say anything too controversial, she’s not afraid to speak her mind and be honest about what it’s like to be the First Lady.
Personally, I think it’s great that she doesn’t give responses that the American public expects to hear, but actually says what she really feels. She talks honestly about how it is difficult to balance being a mother of two daughters and being supportive for her husband while also remaining a professional woman who has a busy schedule…while also being in the spotlight as the First Lady! Michelle Obama is proof that honesty really is the best policy. Just because you’re the first lady doesn’t mean you have to look prim and proper and give perfect answers all the time. She confessed that she had to wake up at 5:15 in the morning to walk the White House puppy, Bo, because the Obama girls keep forgetting to. She advised, “For everyone who has a child asking for a puppy, you have to want the dog.” Sounds like honest, motherly advice to me!
