A Chicago waiter went home with a very large tip one evening, courtesy of Mr. Johnny Depp himself. Imagine catering to a group of celebrities late one night, having to stay a few hours later than expected, and running back and forth to get everything and anything they ask for. I mean, I understand how stressful that might be. You would think the upside of that situation would be getting to meet the celebrities themselves. But, one night, the upside of that situation was a $4,000.00 tip.
According to Access Hollywood, Johnney Depp, Marion Cotillard, and Michael Mann along with several other cast members ate at Gibsons Steakhouse in Chicago; apparently arriving around 11:30 pm. Marion Cotillard is Johnny Depp’s co-star in his new film that is coming out called “Public Enemies”. Michael Mann is the director of the new film, and the cast and crew members were going out to one of their favorite restaurants after a long day of work. Mohammaed Sekhani was the waiter to had been serving the large group, who racked up a bill of over $4,400! They also stayed into the wee hours of the morning, leaving around 2:30 am. Johnney Depp made sure that the kind waiter was well compensated for his work, leaving him with a check for $4,000 as a tip at the end of the night. Sekhani told Radar Online that Depp had been to the restaurant several times before while filming Public Enemies, and that he had been the one to serve him, getting to know what the celebrity liked and how he liked to be treated.
Now that’s what I call a great night of work!
