DIY in the Kitchen: Easy, Healthy Snack

mangosThat’s right! I made my way back in the kitchen! It’s Daisy here, your DIY girl. I’m taking on this new food challenge for myself. Since I’m trying to eat healthier and fresher foods, I decided to Do It Myself! Here’s my new super easy summer snack:
You need:
1 ripe mango
1 ripe lemon
1 tsp of salt
A dash of hot sauce (if you like spicy food)
Directions:
All you need to do is cut up the mango in cubes. To do that, cut the mango in four pieces from the pit. Then, have a parent score the mango to make squares. When you push the skin toward you, the cubes will pop right off! Then, squeeze 1 fresh lemon over mango, and shake the salt over that. Toss together. At the end, add a little dash of hot sauce if you like spicy food. I know the combination seems weird, but the sweet of the mango, tang of the lemon, and pucker of the salt go so well together! It’s super refreshing. I got the idea from a fruit stand on vacation in California. Try it; I’m sure you’ll turn into a fan!
