DIY Halloween Costume – Gey Your Spook On!

Hey GirlMoguls. It’s Daisy here, with one awesome DIY project for you. It’s time to spruce up that Halloween costume, and I have a great idea that you and a bunch of your friends can all do! I saw a bunch of girls last Halloween do this, and everyone was taking pictures of them (including me!). It was so creative, and I found out how they made their costumes. So, what’s the big idea? CRAYOLA CRAYONS!
I know, it may seem young, but these girls made it look awesome and contemporary. First, assign a color to each girl, and make sure that the girl wearing that color has matching shirts and bottoms (if I’m the red crayon, I have to have a red t-shirt and red pants to wear underneath and crayon tube). After you pick your colors, start making your tubes:
1. Get a matching piece of colored poster paper (not thick) to correspond with your crayon color.
2. Using pieces of black construction paper, draw and cut out the Crayola sign and matching squiggles that go on the border.
3. Glue the Crayola letters from left to right on the short side of your poster paper, NOT lengthwise! The squiggles go around the edges as a border.
4. Then, when it is time to get ready, use duct tape to tape the edges of the poster around the middle part of your body, so that you arms and legs stick out of the top and bottom.
5. You’re almost done- don’t forget your hat! Buy a 12-pack of any triangle party hats, and cover each with a matching piece of colored paper that goes with your crayon color. Tape it in place, and VOILA- you’re a box of crayons!
6. For a friend who doesn’t want to be a crayon, get a white t-shirt and cut out 3 holes along the left side vertically. Draw blue horizontal lines across the whole t-shirt, and 1 red line down the right side of the holes. Can you guess what they will be? PAPER!
Here’s a picture of the girls and costumes so you can get an idea of how they look:
