Movie Review: Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs 3-D
Looking for something to do on a rainy day? Look up and open your mouth wide, because the clouds are pouring down everything from bacon and eggs to spaghetti and meatballs! The new 3-D movie Cloudy with Chance of Meatballs was whimsical, funny, and well-animated. The voices were hilarious, and the characters even more so.
Based on an original children’s book, Cloudy with a chance of Meatballs is about a young inventor named Flint Lockwood. Flint’s repeatedly failed inventions don’t stop him, yet his dad does not seem to be too happy with that. One day, he tries to save his abysmal town of Swallow Falls, whose residents rely on the mountain of sardines for food (yuck!), by inventing a machine that turns water into food. That’s right; it turns water into any kind of food you can imagine. Can you picture a place where the clouds drop 3 meals a day from the sky?
Well, the story takes a turn when Flint encounters issues with his invention. Along the way, he meets intern weather-girl Sam Sparks, who is really a GirlMogul at heart but pretends not to be, Brent, the town bully, the greedy mayor, and the hilarious cop Earl. Watch as the town of Swallow Falls deals with Flint’s latest invention, and find out whether Flint can control his food spewing machine.
What food would you want to rain down from the sky?
