Lizzie asks…
Where does the idea of bringing a tree into your home at Christmas originate?
When did people first start bringing trees/plant life into their home to decorate?
Was it with the Egyptians?

GirlMogul answers:
Like most of our holiday traditions, the origin of the Christmas tree isn’t exactly clear, but it’s probably rooted in ancient times, and probably connected to religious rituals. Many ancient cultures revered evergreen trees, which stayed green in the winter while other trees were bare. The evergreens served as a reminder that winter would pass, and the land would once again be fruitful.
As far back as ancient Rome, evergreens were used as a part of the Saturnalia festival-the New Year celebration. Romans exchanged branches and twigs of evergreens as a good-luck blessing.
Many historians believe that pagans of Scandinavia were the first people to bring actual trees indoors-a mid-winter symbol of the promise of the coming warmth of spring.

Thank you!

GirlMogul answers:
You need some strings of lights! I have Christmas lights in my room year round, because they are so pretty. Also, if you have a window, you can put window stickies, paint a mural, or cut out snowflakes to put there. I would also hang paper snowflakes from my celing. Put a red or green, (or both) blanket on your bed. Hang sleigh bells on your door. Make a little collection of pictures from past Christmases on your wall. Have Christmas books on your shelf like The Polar Express. If you have a lamp, put a red or green lightbulb in it.

Sharon asks…
Ways to decorate a Red Christmas Tree?
I’m starting to think about my Christmas decorations. I have a small red tree about 4ft and I’m putting it in my sun room. The interior decor of my sun room is black and white and I am adding Red for Christmas. What should I put on my red tree. I was thinking black and white ornaments and red but I didn’t think maybe you could see red. I was going to take my red ornaments and get swirl stickers or some paint and put black on them, I was also going to do that with my white ornaments. I don’t have any black ornaments but I was thinking about getting some. Does anyone have an ideas? I tried Google but they didn’t show me very much options. If you could give me websites with ideas or any good ideas of your own I would appreciate it.
I want the tree to match my decor, so i want to stick with red white and black

GirlMogul answers:
Instead of more red ornaments you should try getting silver or gold ornaments, it will make your tree look slightly fancier and definitely add a bit of sparkle in your sun room when the light hits the tree. If you want more Christmas decorating ideas, you can look at www.homeseasons.com they might have something you need.
