“Never limit yourself because of others’ limited imagination; never limit others because of your own limited imagination.”
-Mae Jemison, astronaut
Mae Jemison was an inspiring astronaut who knew how to dream big. She makes a point here by stating that we should never stop ourselves from pursuing anything, even big dreams, just because someone else doesn’t think anything can happen. Always believe anything can happen, and use your imagination. Only you can limit yourself, so do not let someone else’s closed mind stop you from doing big things.
Furthermore, it can be the opposite case as well. After all, no one is perfect. When your own imagination of things is limited, do not hinder someone else’s capabilities. Just because you believe something is impossible does not mean they do; often, it is only conviction and hard work that is necessary to succeed. Do not prevent someone’s conviction from strengthening because yours isn’t strong, and at the same time, do not let your own beliefs wither away because the world believes otherwise. Open your imagination to the possibilities of others. This can lead to your own success because there is no one that limits your imagination but yourself. Also, this virtue can allow others to pursue their dreams as well
