Hey everyone! I’m super excited about the new year, and I really think 2010 is going to good. On New Year’s Eve, we hear everyone making resolutions. After always making them and never following through, I decided to listen to some friends’ and adults’ resolutions, and see if they ever follow through with them.
I heard a lot of my friends make resolutions like getting a new item (like some kind of electronic) or saving enough to buy something. I heard a lot of adults make resolutions to lose weight, be more active, or change their lives. So far, almost everyone I talked to told me that they never really follow through with their resolutions. After all, it’s really hard to achieve something for an entire year. So, I was wondering: what is the secret to making and completing a New Year’s resolution?
Don’t fear, GirlMoguls, I have found the answer! The key to making a good New Year’s resolution is starting small! I know, it sounds weird right? But, I found out from my mom and her friends that the most successful resolutions were the ones that were easy to do every day, and consistently. For instance, my mom made the resolution to start a savings fund, but did it by putting away one dollar every single day in the morning. And, guess what? She did it! It was a small task that she could incorporate into her every day routine, making it a resolution she could achieve. So, remember GirlMoguls, when you are thinking of that kind of resolution to make this year, try and think of something small that you can incorporate into your everyday life. My resolution is going to be what my mom did, I think it’s a great and easy way to save up for the future. What’s your resolution for 2010?
